Old and New Chapters

I am so excited to introduce you to our new blog!  A very talented graphic designer is to thank...so thank you Lindsay for re-inspiring me to start blogging again.

So much has happened in the last few years...I am not even sure where to start.  I feel like I blinked and two years of my life has passed by.  So I think I will just give you a short synopsis of the last few years.

Todd and I are both doing AMAZING, he is getting ready to start his third year as an Apprentice Lineman for APS (the power company here in Arizona).  He really enjoys his job and is good at it.  I am so proud of him and happy he has found something he enjoys.  Not many people really understand what all he does but he is out of town a lot and does pretty dangerous work.  I do worry about him daily, but know he is well taken care of.  He has 2 years left of his Apprenticeship and then he will be a Journeyman Lineman.  Below is a picture of him during Climbing School, I believe he is 100-150 feet in the air.

I decided a few years ago that I wanted to go back to school, Nursing School at that!  This has been the best and worst 2 years of my life.  I am so excited to be a Nurse, but it was probably the hardest thing I have ever done.  I met some life long friends and made some great memories.  I just graduated from Nursing School this May.  Now that school is over I am trying to get back to some of the things that I have missed out on the last few years, and get back into some old and new hobbies.  I have found a love for Photography and hope to someday get really good at it.

We have had some happy memories and also some sad ones.  When my husband graduated from high school I surprised him with a Rottweiler puppy, and we named her Roxy, she was covered in mud when we got her and the cutest thing ever.  Sadly right before christmas we found out she had developed Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer in her leg.  We were told we would only have her for about 2 months and she fought for 6 months.  She was an amazing dog and we miss her terribly.  It was in that moment when we had to put her down that Todd and I realized we were adults, these decisions were ones that our parents used to make for us, and we so badly wished it was not us having to make this decision.   Sometimes being an adult just plain stinks, the sad moments hurt so much more.

So now we are on to new Chapters in our life, and are so excited to see what the future holds.  Some upcoming things we are doing: Going scuba diving in Catalina in July and we got drawn for Bull Elk Archery Tags in September.

I hope you will come back soon to see what we are up to!!!
